(Day 0, Guayaquil) Leaving Veena and family was made easier due to the anticipation of what lay ahead: a nonstop to Ecuador.
We are one step closer.
The American Airlines flight was fine from an aeronautical sense. The amenities left something to be desired: specifically the supposed in-flight dinner. Remember this is an international flight and yet, it was a cold sandwich, which I hoped was made in the last 24 hours. It's less that I mind as much as I don't know if these once great businesses have lost sight of how diluted their experiences have become.
Shame.

Once in Guayaquil, all went smoothly. Flawlessly, actually. The customs and immigration folks were very friendly and efficient. And according to the chap who would be the cruise's videographer (he had been to the Galapagos several times perhaps 15 years ago) the airport and all the Ecuadorian facilities were dramatically modernized.

How about Paul and Sidd? At ages 15 and 14 they are as skilled at traveling as I was in my late 20s. Chilled, curious, patient, upbeat.
Who else would be better to traipse around the world? I don't know. I am blessed.
